Asics technology
Asics is a Japanese manufacturer of footwear, sporting goods and clothing. The company was founded as Onitsuka Co. Ltd. in 1949 by Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka in the city of Kobe. It was not until 1977 that the history of the independent Asics brand began to be written. The name is an acronym of the Latin phrase anima sana in corpore sano ( in the Czech translation " a healthy soul in a healthy body" ), which is a derivative of the quote mens sana in corpore sano (in Czech " a healthy spirit in a healthy body") by the Roman satirist Juvenal.
Over the years, Asics has become a leader in the sports world, producing innovative products through state-of-the-art technology. Asics conducts a wide range of research and analysis of the human body at its Sports Science Institute in Kobe by scanning. The institute conducts research not only on products, but also on various service systems, including the operation of clinics where there is a 3D Footscan and MY ASICS - Runkeeper, which is an application that monitors running and other sports activities.
Asics is one of the few manufacturers that differentiates between male and female biomechanics, on the basis of which it tailors its products to the given gender. Running shoes with technological features are especially worth paying attention to. The focus is more and more on sustainability , i.e. on reducing the impact on the environment and, for example, shoe uppers are made from recycled polyester.
