History of the Bjež brand
What is the story of the Czech brand Bjež? Bětka Ježková she was born with wavy hair and anyone who has it knows how hard it is to tame hair. Her hair constantly got in the way of running, volleyball, yoga, but also on a mountain hike . Sport accompanies her all her life, so she decides to solve this problem. She had little time for sports, so she started running. She didn't have to commute anywhere, she just took her shoes and ran out. Around this time, she again began to struggle significantly with her facial hair getting in the way.
So she bought a headband and then many others, but none of them worked for her. When she was running, they would run off her head, push her or give her a headache. She could not come across any reliable product in regular stores that would suit her. She wanted a simple and functional headband that would stay in one place.
So she decided to make her own headband . She sewed, tried different types of materials and looked for inspiration everywhere she could. One day, the dream headband was created from the prototype, which she kept in place when she ran out. She wanted to share her headband with everyone because she was sure she wasn't the only one experiencing the same problem with headbands. So she throws herself into business and establishes the BJEŽ® brand – the name "BJEŽ" came about because it is primarily an abbreviation of her name, and it was quite fitting that it is also a bit of a corruption of the word "bež". However, this does not mean that their products are intended only for running.
At first, she made the headbands herself, then a seamstress friend started helping her, and gradually more were added. Most of the products are made by other skilled hands of seamstresses and knitters in the Zlín region. More products are being added based on feedback. More types of headbands have been added, which they design, print, sew and knit themselves. They try to make customers happy with their products. Their next task is to promote sport and a healthy lifestyle. They like to become partners for various sports events of small and large scales.
All their products are manufactured in the Czech Republic with great care and emphasis on quality. The materials they use for the production of headbands and other products are always tried to be purchased preferentially from suppliers from the Czech Republic. Now, in addition to headbands, their range also includes hats, hair bands and other accessories.
