There are few running shoes that have built such a strong reputation over the years as the HOKA Clifton . For thousands of runners around the world, it is synonymous with comfortable everyday training. Each new generation therefore attracts a lot of attention and this year is no exception. In addition to the new generation of the Clifton 11 , HOKA has also introduced the brand new Clifton Pro model. What is the difference between them and who are they intended for? We will look at that in this article.

HOKA Clifton 11 – a proven model just got a little better
HOKA has chosen to stick to a tried-and-true formula for the eleventh generation, focusing on the details instead of making major changes. The Clifton 11 features a new, more breathable Jacquard mesh upper, a redesigned tongue, and a more comfortable ankle area, making the shoe feel more comfortable from the first wear.
The midsole has grown by 2 mm , which brings an even softer ride and greater comfort on longer runs. The 8 mm drop and the characteristic MetaRocker geometry have been retained, which ensures a smooth transition from landing to push-off.
Like its predecessor, the Clifton 11 is designed primarily for everyday road training. If you were happy with the Clifton 10, the new generation offers the same familiar running feel, just in a more comfortable and better-designed design.
HOKA Clifton Pro – when you want more dynamics from the Clifton
With the Clifton Pro, HOKA is introducing a new model for runners who love the comfort of the Clifton series but are looking for a more lively and agile performance. Compared to the classic Clifton, it uses a lighter and more energetic PROGLIDE+ midsole, which, combined with a more pronounced MetaRocker geometry, offers a faster transition into push-off and a more dynamic running feel.
Although the Clifton Pro doesn't use a carbon plate, it still offers a very efficient and smooth running performance, making it great for faster workouts, progressive runs, or longer runs at a higher pace.
If the Clifton 11 is primarily a comfortable everyday training shoe, the Clifton Pro is a sportier alternative for runners who want to get a little more energy out of each step.

So which of these are the better choices?
If you run most of your miles at a comfortable pace and are looking for comfort for your daily workouts, the Clifton 11 remains a safe choice. The Clifton Pro, on the other hand, will appeal to runners who don't want a carbon shoe but are looking for a model with more energy and a more agile transition with each step. Whichever option you choose, I believe you will be satisfied.
