The new king of hybrid training is here. Nike just released the FREE METCON 7 , and if you're looking for a shoe that can handle your morning sprints and heavy squats without changing shoes, this is a hot candidate.

What's new? (Japanese-inspired design)
The biggest visual and functional change came in the sole, with designer Erick Ikeda taking inspiration from Japanese sashimono joinery (joining wood without nails).
Interlocking Foam: Two types of foam in the sole fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. This ensures a smoother transition from heel to toe and better arch support.
Goodbye, Flywire: The traditional Flywire cables have been replaced by a new webbing system that connects directly to the laces. The result? Firmer lockdown of the midfoot during lateral movements.
Stability vs. Flexibility
FREE METCON 7 still sticks to its DNA – it's an "all-rounder".
Heel: It is firm and wide to support you when lifting weights or squatting.
Toecap: Incredibly flexible thanks to Nike Free technology. Whether you're doing lunges, box jumps, or lunges, the shoe will flex exactly where it's supposed to.

Nike has increased the percentage of recycled materials in this model with Move to Zero . Approximately 20% of the shoe's weight is made up of recycled content, which you can see on the sole, which has fine colored "flakes" (called Nike Grind).
