Salomon ULTRA GLIDE 3 review

First impressions from testing

I started testing the Salomon ULTRA GLIDE 3 men's running shoes on routes up to 15 km,
where the terrain was mainly asphalt and only exceptionally did I run on dirt roads.

I had the opportunity to compare this model with the Salomon S/LAB running shoes that I had been using a month before,
and which are considered a "better version" of the ULTRA GLIDE 3 model.

Here are some first impressions I took away from this testing.

The first thing that caught my eye was the neutral color of the ULTRA GLIDE 3 model.

Unlike other running shoes that can have a distinctive design, this model is subtle
and easy to combine with any sports outfit.

If you care about matching the look of your shoes with your clothes, this model will definitely meet your expectations
and it can be used not only for running, but also for casual wear.

In terms of comfort and stability, the Salomon ULTRA GLIDE 3 is surprisingly lighter than its appearance might suggest, despite having a more substantial upper compared to the S/LAB.

However, this upper offers more protection and security, which is a big advantage for me personally.

I tend to have problems with discomfort around my ankles, and thanks to the firm,
but the comfortable upper makes me feel more stable and secure while running.

Another thing that pleasantly surprised me is the comfort while running. The shoes are highly comfortable and, thanks to their construction, have a " foot in a quilt " effect, thanks to which I don't feel every pebble on the road while running.

I really like this extra layer of comfort because my feet tend to get blisters on longer runs.

Fortunately, I didn't notice anything like that with the ULTRA GLIDE 3 model during testing - blisters were literally a forbidden word.

I consider this a big advantage because comfort is key for me in running shoes.

Another advantage I would like to mention is the quick-lacing system, which greatly simplifies preparation before a run or race.

I don't have to worry that untied shoelaces will slow me down or disrupt my run during a challenging section.

I really liked this system from Salomon because I often had problems with other shoes,

that my shoelaces came loose during a run at the most inopportune moment.

Although I tested the Salomon ULTRA GLIDE 3 mainly in relatively easy terrain, I already have high expectations from testing it in more demanding conditions.

I'm curious to see how these shoes will perform on harder terrain and longer distances, where more foot protection and stability will be needed.

I will definitely continue testing and find out how not only my feet, but also the shoes themselves perform.
