Asics NOVABLAST 6 - a pleasant surprise that can handle almost everything, so let's see what I think about them, how I ran in them, and other important info for me.
My positive feelings and impressions
When I first put on the Asics NOVABLAST 6 , I expected a quality all-purpose training shoe. But after a few runs, I have to say that this model surprised me much more than I expected. I gradually took them on shorter and longer runs, at a slower pace and a little faster, and each time I enjoyed how easy they were to run in.
They are light, comfortable and, most importantly, incredibly versatile. If you don't want to buy several different pairs of shoes and are looking for one that can handle most workouts, I think the NOVABLAST 6 is worth considering. They are wonderfully comfortable when running calmly, but when you pick up the pace, the shoe can respond well and definitely doesn't feel lazy.
But what surprised me the most was the grip on wet asphalt. I admit that this is something that I don't usually think about or evaluate. But during one rainy run, I suddenly realized that I felt much more confident on the surface than with many other models. I didn't feel like I had to be more careful in corners or on wet sections, and that's something that you only appreciate when you experience it.
Another big plus is the look. I know that performance always comes first, but honestly – if you like the shoes on your feet, you just run a little better in them. And for me, the NOVABLAST 6 looks really great. Plus, they are not overpriced, so the price-performance ratio is very good.
And now the disadvantages
To make the review fair, I have to mention some things that may not suit everyone. Asics generally have a slightly narrower toe box and the NOVABLAST 6 is no exception. If you have a wider foot or need more toe room, I would definitely recommend trying the shoes on before buying. Some people will have no problem with it, while others will not like the fit at all.
The second thing is about your running style. If you run significantly over your heel, you probably won't be able to fully utilize the dynamics this shoe offers. In that case, I would rather look for a classic volume shoe focused mainly on maximum cushioning and comfort.
Who would I recommend them to?
For me, the Asics NOVABLAST 6 is a great choice for runners looking for one universal shoe for most of their training. They will be appreciated by beginners and more advanced runners who want a combination of comfort, lightness and a pleasantly lively bounce. If you run mostly on the road, alternating calmer runs with faster sections and don't want to worry about which shoes to wear, I think you can't go wrong with this model.
Personally, I really like the NOVABLAST 6 and it's one of the shoes I reach for most often now. And that's probably the best sign that they were a success.
