Craft technology
Craft is a Swedish manufacturer of sports functional clothing and footwear. This brand was founded in 1977 in the southwest of this Nordic country by Anders Bengtsson in the center of the textile industry, in the city of Borås, the birthplace of the famous Swedish all-rounder and Olympic heptathlon champion Carolina Klüft .
Company founder Bengtsson was working on a special army assignment at the time. His task was to invent a garment that would perfectly protect Royal Air Force pilots from the cold if they were forced to eject from the cockpit of fighter jets. In that case, there would be an enormous change in their body temperature, even by more than 50 degrees. Under such conditions, they would simply become hypothermic very quickly, as the bodies would be wrapped in wet clothing. And so Bengtsson knew that if he could make a fabric that could wick moisture from the inner layer of clothing to the outside, he could break into the market.
Inspired by military testing, the products from Anders' development proved to be practical and in high demand among Scandinavian athletes. And so the Craft of Sweden brand was born, while the word Craft has several meanings - skill and skill. As the first manufacturer of functional clothing, he also started promoting the concept of three functional layers connected to each other - the so-called Craft 1–2–3 principle.
