The Hoka MAFATE X men's running shoes offer maximum comfort even during very long trail races of up to 170 km (ultra trail). The highly durable Vibram® Megagrip outsole ensures reliable traction in demanding, variable terrain.
The aforementioned comfort with every step is provided by the high-density ProFlyX™ foam midsole. The top layer is made of lightweight, highly responsive PEBA foam, which ensures a soft, energetic impact and a great bounce into the next step forward. The lower part of the midsole is made of widely used EVA material, which stands out for its durability and stiffness, giving the shoe the necessary stability and protection on difficult terrain. Between these two layers is inserted a forked carbon plate, which maximizes the rebound and efficiency of running. This part of the shoe has a special META-ROCKER geometry for a natural transition from heel to toe.
The upper made of ultra-light fabric offers high breathability and sweat wicking. The SCF foam insole adds additional comfort and energy return. Reinforced tongue. You can notice a protective layer on the toe that protects your toes while running. The heel area is made of molded TPU and thanks to the ACTIVE FOOT FRAME construction, it will provide excellent stability. Thanks to reflective details, you will be well seen in low light conditions.

EVA
The name EVA stands for Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate. It is a type of copolymer that combines the properties of plastic and rubber. Sports brands use this material in the form of foam, from which they make midsoles and sometimes insoles for shoes.
The widespread use of this foam is due to its excellent properties.
- lightness → one of the biggest advantages that affects the overall weight of the shoe
- shock absorption → cushions every step forward, which your knees will especially appreciate; it can absorb shocks from your steps and thus increases comfort when running and walking (even over longer distances)
- flexibility - the EVA material is very flexible and elastic, allowing natural movement and adaptation to the foot
- durability - in general, this material is resistant to cracking and wear, but of course after really long use it can easily get crushed
- thermal insulation - keeps the foot warm in cold weather, and in summer resists hot surfaces
- water resistance - the closed cell structure of EVA foam does not absorb water, so this material is also used in outdoor shoes
- affordability - compared to advanced cushioning materials, the production of EVA foam is relatively cheaper, which is also reflected in the resulting price of the shoe
PEBA
Powerful PEBA foam is used in the midsoles of racing shoes. It provides a high rate of energy return that propels you forward and thus reduces leg fatigue.
