It was developed from foam, which is usually used in space programs. It is currently the lightest foam with the highest energy return from Nike.
Countless elite runners have been involved in the development of this great material. Long hours of biomechanical testing were also used. This foam was first used in the 2016 Nike Zoom VaporFly in which Olympic gold medalist Eliud Kipchoge ran the Breaking2 marathon in 2:00:25.
