Do you know the history of the Salomon brand? The Salomon ® brand originates from the French Alps and is now based in Metz-Tessy. Salomon specializes in the production of top sports equipment for skiing, outdoor and running. In 1947, the company was founded by François Salomon together with his wife and son Georges in Annecy in the French Alps, where they opened the first workshop. Following in his father's footsteps, Georges continues the business. In the beginning, they specialized in the production of skis and ski bindings. In 1979, Salomon launched their first ski boot: the SX90. Ski boots and ski bindings from Salamon become the best on the market in just three years.

Since 1984, Salomon has invested 350 million francs in a super-modern, automated plant in Rumilly, Haute-Savoie, in order to develop the ski segment. The Salomon® company builds and then successfully opens its new headquarters located in Metz Tessy (Annecy). The turnover of Salomon® will reach EUR 250 million this year alone.

In the spring of 1992, they introduced the Adventure line of hiking boots. These shoes were a huge success, an article about them in the New York Times was titled: "A trip to the future with lighter shoes". In the same year, Salomon becomes the most successful manufacturer at the Albertville Olympics, providing equipment to legends such as Edgar Grospiron. The Integral ski boot was designed in collaboration with the great champion Ingemar Stenmark.

In the same year, he also launches inline skates, which is a significant know-how of Salomon: to start from scratch and within two to three years to diversify and achieve success, just like in the case of skiing. Salomon applies its ski culture to the industry, developing innovative frames to transfer power from the foot to the wheels, and also introducing quick lacing. In 1997, Salomon became part of the German manufacturer adidas, which sold it to the Finnish business group Amer Sports in 2005.

2008 Salomon creates the Skin bag and pioneers the minimal gear trend for running. In 2013, the XT-6 shoe was launched, this model is graphically distinctive, originally designed for long-distance trail running. After that, he surprisingly also broke through in leisure fashion. At the same time, the patented "My Custom Fit 3D" technology brings a revolution in immediate comfort when wearing shoes. Over time, Salomon has expanded from ski equipment to many other industries, expanding their range to include other products for various sports.

Salomon is now the world's leading manufacturer of running shoes, clothing, backpacks and accessories. Whether you need shoes for a walk in nature or a run on challenging terrain, their shoes will definitely be a great investment in comfort, quality and durability. This French brand has become one of the best in the business over 70 years, and their shoes are guaranteed to last you a long time.
