Technology adidas TORSION® System

Information

The TORSION® System is one of adidas ' iconic and long-standing technologies. It first appeared in their portfolio in 1988 and has since become a popular and versatile element used in a wide range of adidas footwear.

This element was originally developed for running shoes, where it was necessary to provide good cushioning and stability.

It is essentially a lightweight TPU element that is placed in the midsole of the shoe. There, it acts as a "bridge" between the front and back of the foot. This system allows the toe of the foot to move independently of the back. This ensures natural movement when walking and running, because the foot does not twist or strain in the shoe.
