AeroAdapt

Information

AeroAdapt is a material innovation from Nike designed to help keep athletes at an optimal temperature so that sweating, overheating or cooling down does not affect training. Generally, when you sweat, airflow decreases as the fabric becomes saturated, but with Nike AeroAdapt technology, airflow increases. That's because the moment AeroAdapt senses sweat, the material's moisture-responsive yarns open up the fabric to release body heat and let air through. As sweat evaporates, the vents close to trap body heat and keep athletes cool.

The technology reacts to whoever is wearing it, moisture from sweat and the environment, as well as personal body temperature, all of which can affect how long the vents open and how long it takes for the vents to close and the panels to dry.

When dry, the fabric appears flat and the yarns are in straight horizontal lines. When the fabric is wet, the yarns contract to allow air to flow.
