Flyknit

Information

Nike Flyknit technology was created based on feedback from professional runners. They were looking for a shoe that would fit the foot like a glove - just like a sock. Nike has assembled teams of analysts, technical experts and designers. It took them four years to develop the technology needed to produce a woven upper with the required structure and durability. Further modifications achieved optimal support, flexibility and breathability in a single layer of material. The result is a light, close-fitting and practically seamless upper.

Details:

Ease. Breathability. Stability.

Nike Flyknit technology uses high-strength fibers that add lightness to the uppers and create targeted zones of support, flexibility and breathability.

Based on feedback from runners, Nike experts designed a fabric that resembles a sock, but with durable and reliable properties.

This material is made of strong but light fibers that are woven into a one-piece upper, so that the foot stays on the platform like nails.

One Flyknit upper contains different types of knits. Some areas are woven tighter to give the foot more support, and others are designed to be more flexible or breathable. At Nike, we've been researching the human foot for over 40 years, so we know exactly where to use which pattern.
