History of the On brand

The Swiss company On was founded in 2010 in the city of Zurich . It was created by three founders who are still the owners today → Olivier Bernard, David Allemann and Caspar Coppetti . Running shoes of the brand On can be recognized at first sight. This is due to their well-known CloudTec™ midsole technology, which impresses with its unusual appearance and excellent properties.

The slogan of the company is the phrase " Run on Clouds " - which in Czech means " run on clouds ". It refers to the structure and shape of the sole of On shoes.

2012 - In this year, their Cloudracer model was created, which ranks among performance shoes. They collaborated on it with the Swiss pro-seasonal triathlete and gold medalist from London 2012 Nicola Spirige . That same year, the company claimed to have patented a suspension technology called CloudTec . This suspension found its beginning thanks to one of the founders - Bernard, who was inspired by a garden hose and the use of a similar shape for shoe suspension. This element can be seen on all On models and is what defines the whole brand. In short, you can recognize On shoes from afar.

In 2019 , the famous Swiss tennis professional Roger Federer also became a shareholder of the company. In 2020 , a limited edition of " The Roger " lifestyle shoes was created in cooperation with him.

On also founded and sponsors the professional running group On Athletics Club , coached by Dathan Ritzenhein . The roster includes many Olympic finalists. An interesting fact is that this company produced the bobsleigh shoes that were used at the 2022 Beijing Olympics .

It is certainly worth mentioning that the American professional runner David Kilgore is currently working with the company.

In March 2022, the Cloudmonster model with an even larger sole was released.

2023 was a significant year for the company thanks to new sponsorships with Polish tennis number one Iga Natalia Świątek and American professional tennis player Ben Shelton .
