Information

GEL™ technology from inert polymers to form fatigue-resistant silicone reduces impacts by absorbing their energy. This results in very effective damping resulting in excellent comfort. It is strategically placed under the heel ( so-called Rearfoot GEL™ ), allowing a smooth transition to the toe, where it improves impact reduction when moving forward ( so-called Forefoot GEL™ ). Over the years, GEL™ technology has become one of the hallmarks of the Japanese manufacturer Asics' products.

Details

GEL™ is a silicone-based cushioning technology that has been featured in Asics products for over 35 years. First introduced after a long development on the GT-II™ model in 1986, it revolutionized the running footwear industry.

It is made of inert, fatigue-resistant polymers. Scientists have observed the ability of silicone materials to reduce vibrations. One test proved that silicone can protect a raw egg dropped from a height of 18 meters without breaking. This gave the Asics developers the idea of how it might ease the movement apparatus of runners. Using biometrics and special technologies, running shoes containing GEL™ as a cushioning element absorbing shocks and shocks were born.

It is strategically placed under the heel ( so-called Rearfoot GEL™ ), allowing a smooth transition to the toe, where it improves impact reduction when moving forward ( so-called Forefoot GEL™ ). Currently, it also works with flexible foam midsoles that return energy with every step. When it comes to comfort and comfortable treads, Asics hardly finds competition. It is no coincidence that his shoes are very popular.

GEL technology can be found in almost all Asics running shoes .
